Why the Bambino needs an espresso-capable grinder
The Bambino will pull a shot from a dual-wall basket with pre-ground coffee. That teaches you the buttons, the steam wand, and cleanup, but it does not teach you how grind affects the shot.
Once you move to the single-wall basket, or use fresh beans even in the dual-wall basket, particle size becomes what you adjust. Too coarse and the shot gushes; too fine and the machine struggles. A drip burr grinder like the Bodum Bistro is the wrong tool. So is a blade mill, and so is a Chestnut C3 that is not the ESP version.

The C3 ESP is about 14.7 cm tall and 5.2 cm across, and it lives in a drawer. The Bambino stays the only appliance on the counter, apart from a scale you can store flat.
An electric espresso grinder stays on the counter. The Encore ESP is about 33.5 cm tall and weighs 5.6 lb, and it needs cabinet clearance, a cord, and room for a dosing cup. A verified reviewer on the listing calls it "definitely not a quiet machine." In a thin-walled apartment at 6 a.m., that motor can disturb the neighbors. The C3 ESP has no motor; you do the work by hand.
If you make three milk drinks before work, hand grinding is a lot of effort. In that case, choose an electric grinder, grind after others are awake, and buy it new rather than resale.
